There is, bit by bit, a lot of changes in the blog. First let me share a good news, “Reflections” was number 62 Fastest Growing Blog on WordPress on 31st Jan. Thank you everyone! (Even though I hope of a better future
.)
I have created and updated the Resources page. There is a new page dedicated to Video Documentaries. God willing, it will be filled with more good documentaries. I have to find some time for gathering links to articles. And time is always precious.
There are some more blogs linked to in my blogroll (that’s an apparently minute change).
I got a Technorati subscription (you can see the icon down in the panel.), and it really helps me keep track of the blogs I like. Those who don’t have a Technorati account, think again!

UPDATE TO UPDATES:
Thanks to Sharique, the Ummah and Non-Ummah categories in the blogroll are past. Now they are called Muslim and Non-Muslim. I may even remove Blogroll.
Another thing is the whole of my blogger blog is now here. A lot of links point to that blog. Otherwise I simply would have deleted it.

Congrats!
One question… what is with the Ummah, non-Ummah thing you have in the side-bar…?
Ooh, another question… what’s the advantage of a Technorati a/c?
Blogroll are those that I visit regularly. Ummah is set of the Muslim blogs that I flock to sometimes. Non-Ummah (you have guessed it right) is set of the non-muslim blogs that I read often.
With Technorati
1. you can track blogs by tags over all domains.
2. you can find out how many blogs are linking to you!
3. You can know when, out of ALL THE BLOGS YOU LIKE, there is a update.
4. you can find out the famous blogs (why i want to find them is a secret, hehe!)
Convinced? If not, not my fault!
Thanks for linking to me
I have been encouraged by our interactions so far and I hope to keep reading more of your reflections.
I have no idea how to use technorati.
Any guideline?
Diana
You are welcome diana. I like your thinking even though I don’t agree with you always, but can two persons ever agree on everything?
Gess
Well neither did I until I registered!
It’s not a difficult thing to use. Just go to their website, and you will KNOW.
OK Manas,
I signed in, but how did you placed the logo on your blog?
After signing in, you should see some codes that they give you. It is titled somethiing like: make it easy for others to add you in their favourits. (this keyboard is awful, so ignore the typos.)
Okay, I’ll give you the link. Login, and then go to this page:
http://technorati.com/account/favbuttons.html
Choose a button you like, copy the code. Come to wordpress. Go to presentaion: Add new text. click on the widget. paste the code in the widget. click update. Done.
You should also look at this page:

Jazak Allah Khair, Manas.

You are welcome,, gess. You will also have to include a link like this:
http://technorati.com/claim/h8xp5dgtg
the italicised part should be unique to your blog. Read the FAQ I gave link to. There you will find more details.
Jazakallah for the explanation, but i have one statement and one question:
S1: The “Ummah” of Muhammad (peace be upon him) can actually include all the human beings who have ever existed, from the time he was made a Prophet, all the way till the end of days (as he is the last Prophet). The distinction is then made between those members of the Ummah who believe, and those who do not believe.
Q1: Even if we were to go by your definition of “Ummah”, which is the more common usage, it still begs the question: why aren’t gess and I on the Ummah blog-roll?!!
*humph*
Congratulations Manas!
I do so enjoy reading your posts, even though at times I feel ill equipped to comment on some of them.
As-salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu,
Haha, shukran jazeelan for linking to me! I shall return the favour…
Your little sister in Islam,
Mouse
iMuslim
you ask difficult questions!
Blogroll is blogs I read REGULARLY. Ummah and non-Ummah are those I read OFTEN.
And about Ummah, I take the common definition which is the followers of Muhammad (PUBH). (smiley)
IMeMy
) JazakAllah for the confidence boost!
(or should I call you Id?
Mouse
Wa-Alaikum As-Salam wa Rahmatullahe wa Barkatuhu.
You should not return the favour. Because there is no favour. Link me if you like me. I don’t do anybody favour. Even if they link to me.
Wha?!
Definition of “regularly”
Definition of “often”
Pray tell, what is the exact difference between these two words? HMM? In fact, if i were to judge the difference, which i shall, i would say “often” is more favourable term than “regularly”…
I am not pleased, Manas; not pleased at all.
You shall be hearing from my lawyers about this…
As soon as i have hired them…
Good day to you, SIR!
P.S., jazakallah for the link on my blog! I’m reeeeally excited about the move, inshallah, but have to make preparations first!
P.P.S., what’s with comment moderation? That’s new!
iMuslim, tell me, there are two guys: one prays Salat regularly, the other prays often. Who will you marry? Other things being same?
oh wow! you link me
thanks:) I enjoy reading your blog, as well as some of the others that I have got to know of because of your comments.
Sporadic, I link you because I think you have an open mind.
I am very happy to know that I have acted as a media to some very good blogs(I too think they’re great!)
“iMuslim, tell me, there are two guys: one prays Salat regularly, the other prays often. Who will you marry? Other things being same?”
We, the legal representatives of the individual so known as “iMuslim”, have advised our client not to answer this question, as it is obviously designed to comprimise her position, and deny her her legal right to be thoroughly miffed at the occupier of this webspace, Mr Manas Shaikh.
If Mr Shaikh wishes to continue dialogue with our client, he should arrange for his solicitors to contact us, forthwith, to arrange the terms by which this dispute may be resolved.
In advance, we provide notification that the client has requested a full apology from Mr Shaikh, in writing, for the denial of side-bar priveleges. In addition, he is to make a public announcement testifying that he was indeed wrong to question our client’s opinion on this matter, or any matter, for that matter, as our client is quite obviously right, in all things, at all times (by the will of the Creator).
We look forward to an expediant resolution of this conflict, with due decorum. However, if Mr Shaikh does not comply with our client’s wishes, we are fully prepared to take this case to the judiciary. We are quite confident that the court will rule in our favour, due to the recent precedent set by the now famous case of Patel.com vs Singh.org.
Your sincerely,
Muslim, from Muslim & Muslim Solicitors
Hey Mr. Solicitor, are your initials J.B.(J)?

Where do I find the italicised part? The FAQ was not much help
Faraz told me about Google Reader, and i signed up today. It is so much better than flippin’ Technorati for keeping up-to-date on all your favourite blogs. Technorati was quite awful in that regard… i do like the feature where you can see who’s linking to you, though. That threw up some BIG surprises, mashallah – good ones though!
gess
It should have shown that when you signen in. I tried briefly to find out again. Could not for now.
iMuslim
BIG surprizes? Huh? I like the search by Tag feature most.
